I led the design and evolution of the Asset Management web dashboard and mobile app, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to deliver user-centered solutions aligned with business goals. I drove design decisions through user research, stakeholder collaboration, and iterative testing, translating complex user needs into intuitive experiences that improved usability and supported product adoption.

Initial research

The team went out to multiple factories to perform user interviews with those who use our product on the floor and identified key areas of improvement for the dashboard page.

💡 Insight: In cases where companies need to track large tools (carrying rocket parts or large bins), a single tag may not capture movement in different directions. Multiple tags should be placed on the tool and mapped to the asset.

User journey map

User journey mapping revealed insights into the experiences and pain points of manufacturing floor workers (Quality Managers, Plant Managers) when finding assets and tools, informing potential improvements.

Buyer personas

By understanding factory floor workers and CEOs tracking assets — what they care about and want to improve — we performed testing to see if our product produced real results. Personas were informed by user interviews with former quality managers on the factory floor, collaboration with PM, and Customer Success.

Design goals

  • 📑 Filtering & Sorting of assets — Assets in a facility can be owned by various groups/departments. The current layout of all asset types on a single page makes sorting challenging.


  • 🛠 Support multiple sensors on an asset — Certain companies track large tools (rocket-carrying tools, giant bins). Multiple RFID tags should be placed on these tools to ensure complete readability.


  • 📍 Provide asset quantity visibility by area — The system currently lacks the capability to track asset inventory within specific departments, rooms, or locations.

How might we …design our web application dashboard to fit every type of business use case when tracking assets of all sizes, materials, storage methods, and configurations?

Filtering by factory floors, departments & zones

We wanted a more convenient option for users who needed to know which tools on each factory floor level, department, and working zone required calibration. A business goal was to introduce metrics and location information to inform users where tools are located.

Users need to know how many assets are available in any department, zone or room

Bringing more visibility into every area — showing which tools need calibration or are due soon, and where they’re located across the factory.

The proposed solution is effective and fast to onboard as many tags as a user needs on larger tools. For tracking big equipment like rocket-carrying tools or large bins, multiple tags ensure complete movement readability in all directions.

What happens when you click on a card?

2 use cases: Calibration date tracking and Location tracking — giving users immediate context when they interact with an asset card.

So how does a user actually find a tool on the factory floor?

Fixed/mounted sensor readers capture real-time tool location data, accessible to factory floor managers and workers via the web or mobile app. With the mobile app’s search & find feature and a handheld sensor scanner, users locate tools quickly in seconds.

As platform expanded, the sidebar navigation was no longer scalable

Multiple features shared the same icon, making them indistinguishable in the collapsed state.


I introduced a scalable icon system with unique visual identifiers for each feature (including Asset Map and Tracking), enabling faster recognition, clearer navigation, and a stronger information hierarchy even within a compact sidebar.
